Details of the Isocore test set-up
Why this is a unique, world-first event
What these results mean for service providers
Results of the comprehensive Business Networking Services delivery performance tests undertaken by Isocore Internetworking Lab
Summary:
These independent tests are an industry first to use real-world, mixed services deployment scenarios.
Tests validate a best-in-class application assured solution with business critical Layer 2/Layer 3 service efficiency, scalability, performance, high availability and accounting.
Results confirm that service providers can confidently provide highly reliable and scalable solutions for business, mobile, and residential services with the same Alcatel-Lucent service router portfolio
Test objectives:
To rigorously evaluate the ability of the Alcatel-Lucent Service Router portfolio to meet the real-world IP-VPN and Carrier Ethernet VPN service delivery requirements of service providers
Focused on the Alcatel-Lucent 7750 Service Router (SR) and 7450 Ethernet Service Switch (ESS) platforms with a variety of Media Dependent Adapters (MDAs) for L2/L3 VPN (IPv4/IPv6 VPN, VPLS, VLL) services and Multiservice Integrated Adapters (MS-ISAs) for AA and IPSec feature-sets
Key findings of the comprehensive ISOCORE report include:
Application Assurance successfully evaluated more than 20 million unique flows at 68 Gb/s in a 7+1 redundant L2/L3 Application Assured VPN setup for business services
Supported over 129,000 unique L3 IP-VPN, L2 VPLS and VLL services with over 479,000 active service endpoint terminations
Over 4 million active traffic flows were created to exercise all service endpoints and routes and included numerous hours of extended traffic runs without loss
Hundreds of thousands of service endpoints with active accounting statistics collection network-wide
All systems remained stable under considerable stress through numerous iteration and test cycles, and no measurable performance degradation was observed anytime during these rigorous tests.
