From its inception, Alcatel-Lucent Ventures has funded an extraordinary group of innovators and entrepreneurial companies. Our entrepreneurs have built significant value across a range of communications technologies. The team has successfully commercialized eight internal ventures. These successes are a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit of the venture founders and their dedication to serving our customers.
Here is a sample of our successful investments:
Alcatel-Lucent 9900 Wireless Network Guardian (WNG)
The 9900 Wireless Network Guardian (WNG) provides critical real-time visibility into the effects that wireless IP application traffic has on data network loading, end-user experience, and subscriber profitability. The solution removes a service provider grey area that lies between packet inspection tools that are blind to the RF network and signaling analyzers and probes that do not see IP traffic. Eliminating this gap in visibility allows operators to quickly ascertain and address the root causes of performance issues, efficiently plan capacity and craft usage policies, better respond to customer complaints, proactively manage security threats, and improve their understanding of the behavior, quality of experience, and profitability of their subscribers.
Alcatel-Lucent Mobile Wallet Service
The Alcatel-Lucent Mobile Wallet Service enables mobile operators to provide mobile payment, couponing, loyalty and interactive advertising to consumers. This innovative hosted service uses contactless RFID/NFC-enabled mobile devices coupled with a powerful workflow engine, wallet and payment gateway to deliver a meaningful electronic wallet solution. Mobile operators can now offer payment services dynamically, bringing relevant services to consumers, based on their market needs.
Alcatel-Lucent AppGlide Video Analytics service
The Alcatel-Lucent AppGlide Video Analytics service gives broadband service providers analytics and reporting capabilities that provide a new level of visibility into online video delivery. By cross-correlating data from multiple sources with actual end-user quality of experience (QoE) measurements, service providers gain valuable insight into customers’ QoE as well as content usage patterns and Content Delivery Network (CDN) performance.
Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess™ 8550 Web Services Gateway (WSG)
The 8550 WSG is industry's first network appliance that allows controlled access to sensitive information across multiple applications and organization-wide implementation of stateful runtime access policies. Bottom-line: with the Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess™ 8550 WSG, the right people get access to the right information and the processes they need, without costly custom application development. |
