You have made an
important investment by earning an Alcatel-Lucent Service Routing
Certification. Don’t let your certification lapse. Complete the recertification
requirements during your eligibility window to conveniently renew your
certification and to retain your professional designation.
Recertify
after three years
All five certifications in the Alcatel-Lucent SRC Program are valid for
three years. After three years, you will need to recertify to ensure
these SRC designations stay current:
1.
Alcatel-Lucent Network Routing Specialist I (NRS I)
2.
Alcatel-Lucent Network Routing Specialist II (NRS II)
3.
Alcatel-Lucent Mobile
Routing Professional (MRP)
4.
Alcatel-Lucent Triple Play Routing Professional (3RP)
5.
Alcatel-Lucent Service Routing Architect (SRA)
Key benefits
of recertification
Like most professional designations, those in the Alcatel-Lucent SRC
Program require students to recertify to retain their SRC designation.
Recertification is an important, career-enhancing investment in your
professional growth. By taking the time to recertify, you will:
1.
Avoid termination of your existing hard-earned certification
level
2.
Ensure your skills and knowledge are evolving in lock-step with
the continuous changes in IP service routing
3.
Continue to network with a community of leading-edge Service
Routing experts
4.
Receive a new industry-respected diploma attesting to your
certification level and accomplishment
5.
Be able to work toward a higher level certification in the future

Four
key dates to remember
|
Please keep these important dates in mind and organize your
recertification activities around them:
- Certification date: The day your certification
was awarded.
- Certification expiry
date:
The day three years from when your certification was awarded. Note
– If you achieve a higher level certification, the expiration
and termination dates for all of your certifications will be reset
to the date of the higher level certification. In the case of the
NRS I certification, if you write any additional SRC exam, the
expiration and termination dates for your NRS I certification will
be reset to the date that you wrote the exam.
- Recertification eligibility
period:
Starts six months preceding your certification expiration and ends
six months after your certification expiry date. This is the period
in which you should complete your recertification activity.
- Certification
termination date: The day your certification terminates if you do
not successfully complete the recertification requirements during
the recertification eligibility period.
Take
advantage of your recertification eligibility window
You are eligible to recertify within a twelve-month window before your
certification termination date. If you recertify while in this period,
your original certification ID is kept and a new diploma will be issued
to you.

Recertification
requirements – It’s easy to recertify
|
To maintain your certification status, you must successfully pass the
recertification requirements associated with the certification that you
hold prior to the certification
termination date. Specific recertification (exam) requirements
by certification are:

SRC Program content constantly
evolves with the requirements of the IP industry. You can prepare for
your recertification by pursuing a self-study option (for NRS I or NRS
II) or you can register for an instructor-led SRC course that is
convenient for you. Visit www.alcatel-lucent.com/src/courses
to review current course outlines and class schedules.
Register for
your exam
All exams are available through Prometric
test sites globally. Visit www.prometric.com/alcatel-lucent
to register for your exam. When you recertify, you will obtain a new
diploma within eight to twelve weeks of your exam activity. You will also
maintain your original certification ID.
Working
toward a higher level certification?
Your current level of certification must be active in order for you to be
granted higher level certifications. For example, if you have an
Alcatel-Lucent NRS I certification, this certification must be active in
order for you to qualify for the Alcatel-Lucent NRS II certification. The
table below identifies the specific exam requirements by certification.

Lower-level dependant
certifications are automatically renewed
If you achieve a higher level certification (NRS II, MRP, 3RP or SRA), the expiration and termination dates
for all of your certifications will be reset to the date of the higher
level certification. When you successfully complete the recertification
requirement for a higher level certification (NRS II, MRP, 3RP or SRA), you will automatically receive renewal
of your lower level certifications. When there is an automatic renewal of
lower level certifications, a diploma will be sent only for the higher
level certification. Lower level certifications that are terminated are
not eligible for automatic recertification. Automatic renewal is only
effective for lower level dependant programs (ie. Achieving a 3RP or SRA
certification does not automatically renew the MRP certification.)
In the case of the
NRS I certification, if you write and pass any additional SRC exam, the
expiration and termination dates for your NRS I certification will be
reset to the date that you wrote the exam.
What happens
if you don’t recertify?
If you do not recertify while in the
recertification eligibility period, your certification will be
terminated. Once a certification is terminated, you lose all
benefits of the certification. You will also need to meet all original
certification requirements again to re-obtain the certification. If you
do re-obtain it, you will be issued a new certification ID and diploma.
Why let your
important certification designation lapse? Take steps to easily recertify
during your recertification eligibility period by completing your
recertification requirements.
