Offer complies with mobile TV standards DVB-H and
DVB-SH
Paris, July 9, 2007 – Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU)
today announced the launch of its terrestrial transmitter offer for mobile
operators and broadcasters desiring to optimize the delivery of broadcast
digital multimedia services to their subscribers. This offer complies with
popular mobile broadcast standards including DVB-H in UHF and DVB-SH in the S
band. Additionally, Alcatel-Lucent provides a comprehensive suite of
professional services for Mobile TV broadcasting, such as network design,
installation and commissioning and post-sales maintenance and operation.
Alcatel-Lucent’s Mobile TV broadcasting terrestrial transmitters portfolio
can be smoothly integrated into mobile operators’ existing networks and sites
in order to cost-efficiently provide radio coverage of television signals as
good as the coverage of existing cellular networks. This allows mobile
operators to upgrade their existing cellular infrastructure easily and
cost-effectively and provide high-quality Mobile TV services to their customers
everywhere, particularly in demanding indoor environments. Additionally,
Alcatel-Lucent’s unified network management solution allows service providers
to supervise the existing mobile network infrastructure together with the new
terrestrial repeaters, thus simplifying the overall network maintenance.
