engine within Bell Labs. Incubating game changing ideas and rapidly

ecosystems, identify external investment opportunities and engage in joint
ventures that allow Alcatel-Lucent to enter new markets and profitably grow the
business.

Alcatel-Lucent 9900 Wireless
Network Guardian (WNG)
Until recently, wireless network operators were working in the dark when it
came to how network resources were consumed. The 9900 WNG provides real-time
visibility into how every subscriber, service and device translates into loads
on every layer of the radio access data network. This new product category
provides a tool for network operators to optimize network design, identify and
address anomalous behaviors before they affect network performance, and even
predict how new services will behave in the network before they are
introduced.
"The Alcatel-Lucent 9900 WNG will be critical
for ensuring that operators cannot only head-off network threats but also
incent applications that make the most efficient use of network resources."
- Peter Jarich, Research Director, Current Analysis

Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess 3500 Nonstop Laptop Guardian
(NLG)
A staggering number of laptops are lost or stolen every year around the
world – more than 80 percent of companies have reported losing a laptop with
sensitive information in the last 12 months. Beyond hardware, both productivity
and sensitive data are lost, and resolution efforts cost IT departments a great
deal of time and energy. The 3500 NLG helps to ensure IT departments are always
able to remotely locate and manage laptops (including software updates, virus
protection, VPN access control and lock-down) through a dedicated high-speed
wireless network card, even if the card is removed or the laptop is powered
down. The Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess 3500 NLG is currently being sold by Sprint
as the SprintSecure Laptop Guardian and is available for sale worldwide in 3G
CDMA and UMTS versions. Watch the

Alcatel-Lucent
5130 Geographic Messaging Services Platform (GMSP)
This solution allows the mobile operator to know where a subscriber is
located enabling them to tailor advertising based on location and provide more
value to the user. If network operators can let subscribers know the location
of friends, colleagues or venues, operators can use that information to drive
enhanced social-networking applications amongst subscribers. The Alcatel-Lucent
5130 GMSP ensures the timely, cost-effective delivery of compelling “push”
services and enables the creation of location-relevant push messaging as a new
medium for marketing and consumer communication. The Alcatel-Lucent 5130 GMSP
has successfully been deployed by professional franchises in sporting and
entertainment venues for cutting-edge social networking and proximity marketing
applications.

touchatag™
touchatag is a service that enables consumers, businesses and third-party
application developers to increase the value of everyday items by connecting
them to online content or applications. The service makes use of Near Field
Communications (NFC) technology, an evolution of RFID that connects electronic
devices over short distances. touchatag, has recently been enhanced with 2D
barcode support, an extended API and new business solutions. These enhancements
allow flexibility for application developers, businesses and consumers in
creating contactless applications that link real world objects to information
and applications on the internet, PC, Mac or mobile phone. An example scenario
for touchatag would be a doctor in a hospital touches his NFC-smartphone on a
patient’s NFC wristband. The doctor instantly receives the patient’s medical
records and other relevant details on his smartphone. Fast, easy-to-read
information improves productivity for the doctor and patient care. To find

Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess™ 8550 Web Services Gateway (WSG)
It is usually an expensive and lengthy process for organizations to securely
share sensitive information with partners, one that often doesn’t scale well.
The 8550 WSG is industry’s first network appliance that allows controlled
access to sensitive information across multiple applications and
organization-wide implementation of stateful runtime access policies.
Bottom-line, with the Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess™ 8550 WSG, the right people get
access to the right information and the processes they need, without costly
custom application development.
