The Alcatel-Lucent 7210 Service Access Switch (SAS) is
a new family of next generation, small footprint, Carrier Ethernet customer
edge and service access aggregation devices designed to address the
requirements of cost effective and highly scalable Carrier Ethernet services
delivery. Available in MPLS and Ethernet variants, the 7210 SAS leverages
the powerful Service Router Operating System (SR OS) and is managed by the 5620
Service Aware Manager (SAM) to extend a new breed of highly available and fully
managed Carrier Ethernet VPN services to the customer edge. The 7210 SAS can
also be deployed as a cost effective service access aggregation device for
smaller sites. As a member of the Service Router (SR) product portfolio, the
7210 SAS provides seamless service extension to IP transformation solutions
using the Alcatel-Lucent 7450 Ethernet Service Switch (ESS), 7705 Service
Aggregation Router (SAR), Alcatel-Lucent 7750 Service Router (SR) and
Alcatel-Lucent 7710 SR.
Reduce the cost of customer acquisition with common OS and seamless service
extension capabilities with the 7450 ESS, 7750 SR and 7710 SR
Create industry leadership with unmatched breadth of services portfolio
with a full suite of enhanced Carrier Ethernet VPN services to support
demanding enterprise applications
Deliver innovative new services to end-users with service differentiation
advantages that includes high availability, SLA performance measurement,
guaranteed QoS per application within a single SLA, comprehensive OAM applied
at the customer edge and advanced management
Shorten ROI and minimize costs by delivering retail/wholesale services to
single or multiple customers on a single device
Operational efficiency with streamlined management and service assurance
that tightly integrates the 5620 SAM, 5650 CPAM and the extensive SR OS OAM
tool kit for rapid troubleshooting and expediting initial time to market for
service activation with quick moves, adds and changes for end-to-end managed
service delivery
Cost-effectively extend the reach of the Carrier Ethernet/MPLS aggregation
network into smaller sites or closer to the end user
Increase revenue opportunities and service reliability with enhanced SLAs
to proactively monitor the status of co-located customer premise equipment,
such as door actions or battery alarms and generate alarms in real time using
dry contacts
